Day One- Missoula, MT

We managed to get ourselves packed into the car, out to Grandma and Papa’s house and on the road just a little before 8:00 a.m…. yay! It must be a good omen that we were able to stick to our schedule.

1 minute into the trip- first time someone made fun of Papa a little bit

4 minutes into the trip- Papa spilled his coffee a little bit

8 minutes into the trip- first argument (about time zones)

8.5 minutes into the trip- first time Papa said he was wrong (about the time zones)

Glad we got all of that out of the way so quickly! 🙂

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. Cheap gas at Safeway thanks to club card points. Good weather, no traffic, not much road construction. Scooted into Missoula, Montana ahead of schedule (thanks to high speed limits!).

The boys got to swim a little with Grandma while I enjoyed a little bit of silence. Thanks, Grandma! They were ready for bed by 10:00 without argument- amazing! AND they were up and ready to move when I shook them at 7:00 in the morning.

Hello world!

I have been tasked by my colleagues to document my family’s Excellent Summer Adventure. I will do my best to post daily- or more often if the kids take charge from the back seat- to give you a glimpse into our fun and/or insanity. Hopefully I will figure out this blogging stuff pretty quickly! I’m not sure if I can post video at this point, but I’m hoping we’ll get it straightened around. If not, perhaps we’ll be able to post private videos to youtube? I might know a lot of technological things, but blogs and online videos are pretty new for me!

Stay tuned for news from our Excellent Summer Adventure, where I will be constantly asking myself…. Is this really for real?!?
